Thinking Kids Garden Class???

Tossing an idea to the wind. Would any parents with youngsters be interested in a garden class for kids? I know summer is busy, but that is also garden season. Class would be hands on at Earthworks, likely 2 weeknights a month, maybe 6 total classes. Kids would plant seeds, plants, pull weeds, water, play in the dirt, harvest veggies, learn about insects, and in the fall get a pumpkin. It can't be free, but would be reasonable. My grandson's Jace & Gavin are picking tomatoes. They love coming to grandma's 'field.' They have already planted potatoes and pumpkins for 3 years. Yup, we start 'em young. Please, give some feed back asap. I need to submit curriculm to the St. Peter Community Center by March 9. email ddenise58@msn.com or leave a comment here. Thanks!

Mystery Solved!!!

For years, I have seen a fresh trail of deer tracks in the field, everywhere...everyday. But...what are they eating? Besides a little silk eaten off the sweetcorn, the plants remained uneaten, which is the good news. The bad news is, they are loving the tulips I planted last fall with hopes of those beauties in my spring bouquets fading fast. The ones in the picture are from the home garden. So after years of wondering what they would eat in ernest one day, I have my answer, mystery solved, they are loving the tulips. The bright side, if there is one, is that these tulips ended up being too early anyway!
